Pre-Award Research Analyst
Overview
Chapman University’s Office of Research is seeking a Pre-Award Research Analyst to join its growing and highly motivated team of research administration. The tasks and duties associated with the Research Analyst position will vary based on the candidate’s experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities.
The Sponsored Projects Analyst works in the Office of Research with faculty from all departments at the university on proposal preparation to various sponsors. Works with principal investigators, faculty and staff to coordinate pre- award activities for grants and/or contracts. Assists with grant development activities including proposal and budget preparation and review. Provides guidance on funding agency regulations, as well as Chapman University’s administrative and fiscal policies. Assists with non-financial post award actions such as progress reports, re-budgeting, no-cost extension, and other prior approval requests, etc. Other duties as assigned including data entry, reconciling accounts and general administrative support.

Additionally, this position may work with Sponsored Projects Services (SPS) leadership and staff on SPS departmental projects and/or special assignments as needed.
This is an exempt Administrator position. This position is eligible for participation in our health and welfare benefits, supplemental retirement plan, accrued sick time, vacation, and holiday pay. This position is fully in-person and based in Irvine at our Rinker campus.
