KAUST’s unique Global Collaborative Research (GCR) programmes are designed to accelerate research and develop collaborative graduate educational programmes. In this pivotal role, you will lead on a wide range of activities designed to maximise the benefit to KAUST of international research and development collaboration. This will include activities designed to engage faculty and foster collaborations and the initiation of new, competitive grants programmes and projects. As a member of the GCR senior management team, you will work closely with the Director to maintain the integrity of the GCR collaborations function – from leading interactions with researchers to supervising the team and directing the development of policies.
Extensive experience in all aspects of pre-award practices, particularly preparation of solicitations and peer review processes and procedures is essential. You must have demonstrable management and supervisory skills. A strong understanding of post-award financial and administrative practices and procedures would be a definite advantage. You must either be qualified to Masters or PhD level in Economics / Business / Engineering / Science or a similar discipline, or have equivalent experience in a government or non-profit research grant-making organisation. Please note some of your duties will involve international travel.
