Research Administration Training Manager

Overview

Sponsored Programs is part of the Office of Research, a group dedicated to aiding the research community in navigating the lifecycle of their work, from finding funding to creating proposals to helping inventions find their way to the public. 

The Training Manager will support developing, implementing, and managing training guidance and processes that ensure compliance with accounting principles, sponsor requirements, state and federal guidelines, and University policies. This position reports to the Director of Training and Development, ideally, will have experience in research administration. We are embarking on a new model to support school and central administrators, specifically the onboarding of new administrators, ensuring they have the foundation to be successful and thrive in their  roles. This work will support our faculty and their need for strong grant and finance administrators.

Major duties of this position include:

·     Execute, manage, and contribute to projects and initiatives that will be part of our new endeavor.

·       Implement and distribute training guidance related to sponsored research for central and departmental staff and faculty.

·       Provide support during ad-hoc projects. Generate surveys and dashboards in support of initiatives and needs.

·       Assist with managing and maintaining Sponsored Research web pages and support the SP blog and SP communications (internal and external).

Requirements

We seek someone with a passion for developing others and sharing knowledge. Ideally, this person would have a creative eye for developing methods and materials that stand out and engage our community. Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other educational technologies. Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite as well as tools such as Copilot, Canva, Qualtrics, Zoom, polling software, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.

Work experience: 5 to 8 years required.

Education experience: Master's degree required or equivalent experience.
