The department of Research Administrative Services is looking to fill the role of Senior Grants Specialist (multiple positions)
Overview
Research Administration Services (RAS) is a centralized support team which will provide departmental level research administration services to departments needing ad hoc assistance, including one-off proposal & award assistance and departments experiencing vacancies.
It is required to have a bachelor’s degree and three years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to seven years and experience with Research Administration in higher education is strongly preferred.
The position works with and advises principal investigators (PIs) in preparing proposal applications for submission to central office for review. This includes, but not limited to, managing the administrative portions of proposal applications; budget and budget justification development; and communication with co-investigators. As well as interpret and adhere to grant regulations and procedures. Provides project life cycle financial functions which includes monthly reconciliation, providing monthly financial statements to PIs, completion of award modification requests, and coordination of purchasing, travel, and personnel activities based on grant deliverables, PI requests and terms and conditions of the award.
Will serve as a liaison with the central offices (Sponsored Research Administration or FSU Research Foundation) to ensure compliance with federal, state, university, and sponsor regulations and guidelines.
Assist with the analysis, development, and evaluation of instructional materials related to research administration, with a primary focus on supporting departmental administrative and RAS activities. Other duties as assigned related to the departmental research administration functions supported by RAS.
