Research Associate I - Contracting Officer

Overview

Job Summary: The Contracting Officer (CO) is a Research Associate I with 2+ years' experience in Government Contracting. The Contracting Officer will have knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its supplements, including the Department of Defense DFARS, and be able to work independently and make sound business decisions for the institution. Additionally, the CO will be responsible for a wide range of support including interfacing with GTRI Project Directors, Legal Staff, Research Integrity Assurance Team, and GA Tech Management.

This position is hybrid-eligible.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree is required.

Preferred Educational Qualifications: Master's degree preferred
Preferred Experience:

• 2 years or more of experience in federal contract management, including knowledge of non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, and IDIQ Contracts.
• Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), DFAR to include Cost and pricing data, Organizational Conflict of Interest, Intellectual Property Clauses and Government Property clauses, Small Business Plan Requirements 
• Familiarity with Fedbiz Ops, EDA, WAWF, FAPIIS, and Contractor Performance Assessment Report Systems (CPARS).
• Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), DFARS to include areas pertaining to cost and pricing data, Organizational Conflict of Interest, Intellectual Property, and Government Property, and the Small Business Program.
• Thorough understanding of different contract types (i.e., FFP, T&M, LOE, CP, etc.).
