Senior Contracts and Grants Specialist (Remote/Hybrid)

Overview

Founded in 1974, the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation (PIRE) is a national leader in public health research headquartered in the National Capital region. PIRE is seeking a full-time benefit eligible Senior Contracts and Grants Specialist to join its Central Business Office Team. 

This remote or hybrid position will report to our Director of Contracts and Grants and be responsible for pre-and post-award contract and grant administration of awards funded by a variety of sources, including foundations, as well as federal, state, and local agencies. In this key position, the right candidate will work closely with the Director of Contracts and Grants and Site Administrators, as well as PIRE leadership throughout the Institute, and support of a team of experienced, nationwide research staff.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated professional with at least 5 years’ demonstrated experience managing grants and contracts throughout the project life cycle for agencies such as NIH, SAMHSA, NIJ and NHTSA. They will have extensive experience interpreting and implementing regulations (e.g., Uniform Guidance and FAR) and familiarity with procurement and subrecipient management.  Strong demonstration of financial acumen with the ability to interpret financial reports is desired. 

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepares and negotiates awards, subawards, contracts, non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, subcontract agreements, consulting agreements
  • Liaises with principal investigators, site administrators, government representatives, funders, subrecipients, and vendors concerning contract, grant, and subcontract issues
  • Enters and maintains accurate electronic/hardcopy project records
  • Subrecipient Management
  • Provides guidance to principal investigators and site administrators on compliance related items
  • Generates, reviews, and interprets financial reports
  • Actively participates in regulatory reviews financial audits
  • Assists with proposal/application and budgetary review
