POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Grants & Contracts Officer will act as primary support staff for the Advanced Technology department and supports numerous functional areas of sponsored projects including administrative duties, budgets, award negotiation and acceptance (both prime and subcontracts), award setup, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting these functions in federal grants and contracts administration.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or other related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of direct work experience in a university office of sponsored projects (OSP).

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Provide review, assistance, and counsel during development and transmittal of grants to funding agencies.
  • Oversees, prepares, and manages prime and subaward contracts with federal or academic funding institutions. Reads and interprets contracts and other award documents and provides redlines or flags pertinent information.
  • Interprets regulations and guidelines of program funding for grants, cooperative agreements and contracts.
  • Drafts and reviews contract or grant renewals and periodic reports before transmittal to sponsoring agencies.
  • Oversees and runs weekly PI reporting meeting and tracks deliverables, tasks, budgets, project timelines, and key outcomes.
  • Facilitates action plans, budget adjustments, personnel adjustments, and forecasting in concert with project PIs, finance staff, and department director.
  • Tracks deadlines, deliverables, expenditures, and reporting requirements.
  • Maintains a record of pending, active, and past funding support.
  • Handles complex issues to facilitate timely grant & contract administration.
  • May establish new methods of productivity improvement for the team.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
