Grants Manager (Hybrid)

Overview 

Purdue University Northwest is seeking a Grants Manager to join our Sponsored Programs Department.  The primary purpose of this position is to independently service a portfolio of externally funded grants and ensure the university upholds the highest standards of fiscal compliance.  The grant portfolio value can range between $5 million and $20 million annually.
 

This position has the flexibility to work in a hybrid work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Independently manage Purdue University Northwest grants portfolio from set up to post-closing (audit).  
  • Ensure PNW grants are managed in compliance with Purdue University policies and processes, Federal Uniform Administrative Requirements (2.CFR 200), and sponsor requirements and expectations.
  • Develop grants management processes that align with federal, sponsor, or university requirements.
  • Stay up to date with relevant grant-related developments and policies.
  • Work with West Lafayette to establish new accounts.
  • Approve all expenses on grants.
  • Manage and process effort reporting (Personnel Activity Reports) and other documents, such as Notices to Proceed and No Cost Extensions.
  • Monitor and clear overdrafts and provide grant projections and monthly reports.
  • Ensure appropriate rates are used and that regulatory requirements are met throughout the project.
  • Manage internal and external audits as needed and maintain backup
  • Develop training and website content
  • Conduct grants management training sessions

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Preferred degree in Business, Higher Education, Communication, or a related field

Experience

  • Two years of experience in Research Administration, Business/Accounting, Project Management, or Sponsored Programs.
