Assistant Director for Grant Writing and Management

Overview

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE), the Assistant Director for Grant Writing and Management will be responsible for strategically pursuing funding opportunities that will assist the IIE in accomplishing its strategic goals.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with the directors and program managers to proactively monitor public and private entities to identify funding opportunities.
  • Leading the writing, development, and submission of grant applications.
  • Preparing and/or reviewing proposal budgets to ensure compliance with funder requirements.
  • Providing training to staff on sourcing funding opportunities, grant writing, and proposal submission processes.
  • Managing all grant-related administrative processes, including the development and submission of project budgets, expense reports, program reports, and invoices.
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the mission and strategic goals of the Zarb School of Business and the IIE and translating that knowledge into compelling and competitive grant proposals.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with funders and other stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that proposals submitted are in compliance with rules and regulations related to higher education grants and meet the terms and conditions of the specific RFP.
  • Working with faculty and staff from across the university to prepare and submit grant proposals related to innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • Tracking key metrics for IIE programs.
  • Special projects and other related duties as assigned.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in grant writing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to independently set priorities and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Full proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office and Google Documents.
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced, deadline driven environment without sacrificing quality.
  • Ability to work with confidential data and demonstrate discretion in all interactions.
  • Excellent time-management, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to work with a variety of people and personalities.
