Proposal Development Officer

Overview

California Polytechnic State University has an exciting opportunity available in the Grants Development Office for a full-time, remote in-state (California) eligible position. The Proposal Development Officer position provides pre-award guidance and critical support for sponsored project proposal submissions.

Job Summary

The Proposal Development Officer is responsible for analysis of federal funding regulation and priorities, strategic pre-award proposal development planning, review, and submission activities; review and analysis of award, contract, and related documents; faculty training and outreach, and contributing to other administrative operations of the department.

Department Summary

The Grants Development Office (GDO), within the division of Research, Economic Development, and Graduate Education, provides leadership and strategic guidance, information, and services to administrators, faculty, and staff engaged in extramurally funded research, instruction, professional development, and community service projects from public funding sources.

  • Ability to use appreciable judgement in decision-making and resolution of issues
  • Ability to apply extensive expertise to complex administrative issues, taking into consideration applicable laws and regulations
  • Ability to present ideas and concepts in written or presentation format
  • Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction

Education and Experience

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university and four years of technical or administrative experience. A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.  Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Salary and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually
