Description:

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking to fill a Research Associate II position.

This position will support the BEhavioral Health Stratified Treatment (BEST) to Optimize Transition to Adulthood for Youth with IDD research and training study. This study is a PCORI-funded clinical trial to evaluate the comparable efficacy of standard care coordination vs. integrated behavioral health care coordination in improving the mental health, adaptive functioning, transition readiness, and consumer engagement outcomes of youth with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

  • Coordination and recruitment of youth ages 13-20 from the UIC Division for Specialized Care for Children to participate in the BEST study.
  • Enrollment of participants according to established research protocols.
  • Maintains detailed records of communication with participants in REDCap.
  • Maintains and processes required paperwork.
  • Participate in literature searches, data analyses, and writing of research manuscripts.
  • Participates in meetings and workgroups related to the project.
  • Participates in IRB human subjects training (CITI Training), maintains appropriate professional competencies, and assures staff compliance with human subjects training requirements.
  • Oversee student interns and volunteers.
  • Conduct research study activities and tasks as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in science or related field required.
  • A minimum of one year related research experience.
  • Knowledge of research concepts, practices and procedures.
