Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Budget and Grants Coordinator - Boca Raton, FL.

 

Summary of Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Provide support to Assistant Dean with developing and managing the college annual operating budget.
  • Perform financial forecasting and analysis for college E&G, Auxiliary, Grant and Foundation accounts.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot account encumbrances and available balances using Workday.
  • Review and approve Workday business processes on behalf of the Dean’s Office.
  • Represent the college on appropriate committees and task forces.
  • Provide support for college human resources recruitment, employment, classification and staff compensation activities to ensure consistent interpretation and applications of central Human Resources programs and initiatives.
  • Review, approve and edit all offer and assignment letters for compensated positions and all employment packages prior to submission to the Provost's Office and Human Resources.
  • Counsel faculty administrators and staff supervisors in human resources matters. Manage the onboarding and appointment process for all compensated faculty and staff. On behalf of the Dean’s Office, review and approve new positions, reclassification requests, updated position descriptions and recruitment of vacancies for faculty and staff positions.
  • Prepare position and salary justification requests on behalf of the Dean.
  • Direct the development and update of College of Social Work & Criminal Justice faculty and staff orientations to supplement the Provost's Office and central Human Resources orientations.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Dean, Finance and Administration in the management of Faculty Affairs administrative matters including, but not limited to, compensated appointment renewals, development and maintenance of the Faculty Handbook and faculty-related reports and information requests.
  • Provide oversight and content and input to the Faculty/Staff Resources section of the College of Social Work & Criminal Justice website.
  • Provide in-depth pre- and post-award support for the College of Social Work & Criminal Justice.
  • Work with principal investigators, prepare grant budgets and review proposals for completeness and compliance with submission requirements and policies.
  • Perform accounting, progress reporting, and other post-award grant management functions.  Review and interpret award documents to ensure compliance with sponsor terms and conditions.  
  • Maintain grant related costing allocations to properly reflect faculty effort.
  • Plan, arrange and participate in workshops and seminars to promote participation in the proposal process.
  • Perform other related duties and complete special projects as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to success in this position.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.

Must also have excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.
