Description:

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a Research Associate II. This position is responsible for supporting research activities in the Department of Pediatrics. This includes pre and post-award management, direct research support, and administrative duties related to research. Administrative duties are on the individual project level and also on the department level, and vary depending on activities and needs within the department.

Duties:

• Assist faculty, fellows, residents and students to design research and data collection procedures and protocols for social and/or clinical research.
• Coordinate research experiments. This includes recruitment, data collection, data analysis, and dissemination efforts. This also includes assistance with IRB management, grants and contracts reporting, and compliance documentation.
• Assist with pre- and post-award management.
• Documentation and data collection on the departmental level regarding research activities.
• Implement research protocols in the field of Pediatric health.
• Collect and analyze data—through observations, interviews, and surveys, and by using samples of blood or other bodily fluids, as required per protocol.
• Communicate findings to researchers and health practitioners.
• Manage Pediatric research programs by submitting funding proposals, monitoring study progress, insuring compliance, and managing and analyzing data.
• Supervise and/or provide guidance to professional, technical, and clerical personnel, as required.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in social science or related field required.
• A minimum of one year related research experience.
• Knowledge of research concepts, practices and procedures.
