POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Office of Research, Innovation and Economic Development, Division of Research Administration (DRA) is seeking to hire a Research Accounting Manager. The principle responsibilities are as follows:
- Plans, organizes, directs, and certifies the work of Research Accountants to facilitate the effective and efficient management of roughly 2,100 grants and contracts from external sponsors.
- Responsible for on-boarding and training new team members, guiding their development on the department’s career path.
- Provide regulatory guidance to faculty, department heads, and departmental accounting staff.
- Review grant and contract activity to ensure financial compliance.

Basic Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Required Experience: Six or more years in post-award management of sponsored grants and contracts, preferably at a comprehensive research university or institution. Experience with computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office.
(Preferred Experience):
Knowledge of UT fiscal, human resource and research policies; Knowledge of SAP and/or Cayuse; Direct supervisory oversight of accounting personnel; Professional certification, such as Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
