Georgia State (www.gsu.edu) is an R1 research university and one of the nation’s premier urban public research universities, solving complex issues ranging from the most fundamental questions of the universe to the most challenging issues in human health. Researchers at Georgia State utilize the university’s state-of-the-art facilities and work across the disciplines to address critical quality of life issues, such as cancer, obesity, inflammation, vaccines, child and adult literacy, and public health issues related to smoking, among others.
Georgia State University is also one of the fastest-growing research institutions in the nation. For the past three years, the university has been the highest-ranked institution without an engineering, medical or agricultural school. In fiscal year 2021, Georgia State received over $150 million in external research funding, more than half of this from the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the U.S. Department of Education combined. Annual research expenditures were just under $200 million in FY2020. The National Science Foundation’s latest Higher Education Research and Development (HERD) Survey (2018) ranks Georgia State 114th out of 646 universities in the U.S. for research expenditures, 78th out of 408 public universities, and 1st among universities without a medical school or school of engineering.

Georgia State University is in downtown Atlanta. Atlanta is known for its southern culture, friendliness, and low cost of living. Atlanta is a vibrant city, home to three major sports teams: the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Hawks. The Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson international airport is the busiest airport in the US and makes air travel easy.
Job Description Summary (Remote work arrangements will be considered for experienced administrators)
As a team member in the Office of Sponsored Programs and Awards (OSPA), we are seeking a detail-oriented person who thrives in a deadline driven environment. The position provides technical assistance and guidance to faculty and campus administrators in the development and preparation of funding proposals to a wide range of sponsors. Prepares and processes notices of award, no-cost extensions, subcontract continuations, and contract modifications. Prepares and disseminates award notifications, amendments, and related documents.
