In this role, you have the opportunity to make life better

Supports financial and contracting activities in the Grants and Contracts function in Philips Research North America

 

You are responsible for

  • Pre-Award
    • Work closely with highly skilled technical teams in proposal development, in close collaboration with NA Partners team including grant writer (note: a project management role rather than a writing role)
    • Obtain supporting documents such as letters of support
    • Quality assurance of proposals to meet or exceed requirements of solicitations
  • Post-Award:
    • Work with subcontractors including University Offices of Sponsored Research
    • Assist in negotiating contracts and subcontracts with guidance from Philips Legal
    • Track and provide clear visibility into status of contract deliverables, working in close collaboration with technical project leader
    • Review and submit invoices
    • Prepare SAP Invoice Templates
    • Monthly tracking and reporting for internal and sponsor use

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

  • 5+ years of experience in R&D proposal development processes
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Team builder who works well with technical teams, legal offices, accounting and management, and on occasion, government program managers and contract specialists Familiarity with government grant and contract (prime and subcontracts) processes, especially cost reimbursement contracts, as well as rules and regulations, at a high level.
  • Knowledge of key Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs)
  • Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) process requirements
  • Knowledge of invoicing requirements for funded programs
  • An appreciation of critical legal aspects of R&D contracts and agreements, at a high level
  • Self-motivated, proactive driver of projects
