Grants Administrator

Overview

Dominican College has an opening for a full-time Grants Administrator, reporting to the Controller with various interactions with the Vice President of Financial Affairs and other senior members at the College. This role serves as one of the primary management professionals supporting compliance with grant awards received from federal and foundation sources.  Support to grant applications will also be required as needed.  This position is a field-facing; responsibilities management of grant award from federal and state government grant agencies that includes interaction with foundation, government and internal staff.

Essential Functions: 

  • Support full range of pre-award grant proposal activities including proposal and budget preparation, internal review/approval and submission of grants to secure external private and public funding.
  • Detailed attention to post-award management and stewardship of grant funding. 
  • Regularly review time and effort reporting and recommend adjustment as needed in accordance with College policy.
  • Lead creation of institutional policies and procedures concerning grant seeking and compliance. 
  • Support development of new initiatives for partnerships and program growth.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty and staff colleagues and campus departments.
  • Work to create a culture of grant seeking on campus through faculty support and training on all aspects of grant seeking. Serve as liaison between grant consultants and College administrators and faculty. 
  • Collaborate with faculty and other College departments in pursuit of external funding and provide grant writing assistance to individual faculty, programs and offices.  
  • Maintain accurate record of grant proposals and submission status; work with advancement services to maintain current records in database. 
  • Represent the College at community activities and events; participate in College events as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:         

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in business, accounting or related subject, advanced degree preferred. 
  • At least three years demonstrated success in managing foundation and federal grants.
  • Proficient in MS Office required; Raiser’s Edge as well as using search engines a plus.  Experience/knowledge with budget development and adherence, proposal writing, and federal website such as PMS Grant.gov, GrantSolutions, HRSA EHBs, CDC SAMS, FSRS. 
  • Understanding of U.S. Office of Management and Budget Uniform Guidance and other regulations, guidelines and instructions in the notice of grant awards. 
  • Familiar with federal and state electronic grant submission process and with pre and post-award compliance for federal grants.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, collaborate, work autonomously, and translate financial language into non-financial terminology.
