Pre-Award Specialist

Job Purpose:

Situated within the Office of Research and reporting to the Team Lead, this person is responsible for partnering with University investigators to develop and maintain assigned portions of TTU’s pre-award portfolio.

Essential Functions:

Research Administration. Assist investigators (faculty, staff, and students) with the identification of funding opportunities. Assist investigators in the development and submission of proposals to federal and nonfederal sponsoring agencies, including: Develop proposal budgets, Confirm proposal meets sponsor requirements, Verify cost sharing in proposal is listed and commitments secured, Conduct programmatic review of proposal and receive institutional approval, Record proposal information in Institutional System of Record (Banner) for tracking, Submit proposal to sponsor via appropriate agency portal (electronic or paper), Adhere to agreed-upon processes and documented S.O.P.s, and maintain current working know ledge of all external regulations, internal policies and general best practices informing pre-award research administration.
