Grant Writer and Administrator
Overview
The Center for Urban Informatics and Progress (CUIP), a data-driven multidisciplinary smart cities research center at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga (UTC), is searching for a Grant Writer and Administrator who will independently coordinate and manage grant proposal development for affiliated faculty. CUIP is a leading smart cities research center that studies novel, original, and scalable ways to make cities safer, more efficient, and healthier. Our research is funded by federal agencies (NSF, NIH, DOE, DOT), the state of Tennessee, the city of Chattanooga, and private industry partners among others.
The duties for this position include coordinating proposal writing and budget development efforts, and assisting with grant capacity building and reporting. This position will manage multi-investor, multi-institutional proposal teams throughout the grant lifecycle (from opportunity discovery to program/budget design to proposal submission to award implementation). This position requires strong project management abilities and the knowledge and skillsets necessary to ensure that proposals comply with federal, state, and university regulations.
A successful Grant Writer and Administrator will increase the competitiveness of proposals by identifying appropriate funding opportunities, coordinating with internal/ external partners, drafting non-technical proposal components, and editing/proofreading all components of the proposal.
