Post Award Accountant

VAI is currently seeking to hire a Post Award Accountant. In this role, you join our Finance Team where you will be responsible for accounting functions and customer service.  You will work closely with the Finance Team to support the Institute’s mission.

Your Key Responsibilities in this role will include the following:

  • Review new grant award agreements extracting important compliance and financial oriented information
  • Month end closing of grants
  • Reporting grants internally and externally based on sponsor deliverables
  • Communication with team members in Finance and Office of Sponsored Research related to grants or labor cost transfers
  • Year End audit responsibilities and assist with single audit requests.

The skills you will be required to have in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major emphasis in accounting.
  • Excels in Microsoft Office (with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel), verbal and written communication, and other applicable tools to perform job function.
  • Hard working and committed to producing strong results.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
