Research Accounting Manager
Overview
This position’s primary focus is to oversee the accounting and finance team of California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute and the Sutter Health Research Support Service to oversee intercompany financial communications between CPMCRI, CPMC and Sutter Health Financial Team and Sutter Shared Service (S3). The position provides financial guidance to the Sutter research centers and affiliate research programs. The position is responsible for overseeing the research accounting functions and team including the preparation of internal and A-133 audit, schedule of federal awards, tax schedules, general ledger, accounts payable & receivable payroll transactions, cash, financial statements, internal controls, reconciliations, indirect cost rate calculations, the consolidated financial reporting for Sutter research, and budget planning and expenditure monitoring.
Qualifications Education/Certification/Licensure: Bachelors’ degree is highly desired; OR, equivalent education/experience in accounting, finance, administration or business CPA is preferred Experience/Knowledge/Skills At least 5 years’ experience in accounting with some management experience, familiarity with GAAP accounting principles. Strong grants, contracts and subcontracts experience is highly desired. Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite: spreadsheets using pivot tables, formulas and graphics; word processing; data analysis, high-level skill using Lawson, ability to write Crystal Reports is desirable
