Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting a Research Development Specialist (RDS) to join an energetic and growing team for Research & Proposal Development Services within Research & Innovation. The RDS will assist the Proposal Capture Manager to maintain a broad understanding of the research funding landscape by being alert to and identifying new and strategically important research funding opportunities. The RDS will both lead and assist with project management and proposal management of large and complex multidisciplinary research proposals. The RDS will also organize research training events, such as seminars, lightening talks and panels. The RDS will be responsible for coordinating the honorific faculty awards programs and assisting with applicant materials as needed. In addition, the RDS will collect and verify data about faculty productivity and University research metrics. The Research Development Specialist is expected to be a strong team player who works collaboratively when appropriate and independently as needed. The position requires a high amount of self-motivation and drive to meet expectations. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of related work experience; OR a master's degree and one year of related work experience.

Related Experience: research development or sponsored activities in a university setting or academic environment.

Research & Innovation focuses on enhancing the research enterprise by supporting collaboration and innovation. The Research & Proposal Development Services team within the division works to strategically advance research and grant-supported activities, promotes funding opportunities, enhances collaboration, and supports the production of research proposals.
