The Associate Director for Grant Writing and Assessment serves as a member of the Einaudi Center's senior staff team, contributing to the strategic vision and growth of the Center. The Associate Director reports to the Director of the Einaudi Center and works in consultation with the faculty leadership to manage the grantmaking portfolio through the entire lifecycle – identification of opportunities, development of strategic relationships, proposal development, liaison with the Office of Sponsored Programs, and successful implementation of awarded grants. The Associate Director will identify and pursue external federal, corporate, and foundation funding opportunities in support of the Center and programmatic mission, with the overarching goal of ensuring sustainable funding. They will be directly responsible for proposal development and grant writing, including identifying relevant faculty and external partners to coordinate around specific funding opportunities. They will also respond to faculty affiliates of the Center and Programs within the Center to support their competitive proposal development and submission. The Associate Director will also coordinate faculty engagement with a team of grant writers in the Office of Sponsored Programs and freelance grant writers.

 

The Associate Director will be responsible for assessment and will assist Einaudi international programs with monitoring and evaluating grants and act as the Center's liaison to an evaluation consultant.   They will serve as the data steward for the Einaudi Center, with primary responsibility for data integrity, ensuring grant compliance, and creating regular and ad-hoc data-based reports on grant awards and research and curricular initiatives, for institutional leadership.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree; more than three years of experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of the foundation and granting landscape.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing grant proposals, assessment and reporting, database management, and grant compliance and reporting. Knowledge of grant budgets and sponsored funds accounting.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external constituents.
  • Proficiency in various standard office productivity tools, including Word, Excel, spreadsheets, and databases.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree focused on international relations, international studies, global history, or another international-related field strongly desired.
