Associate Director Level - Bachelor's degree and seven years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted. Grade EH Salary Minimum $56,064.

Preferred Qualifications:

Provision of Excellent Customer Service.

Demonstrated management and leadership abilities.

Direct experience with diverse types of sponsored proposals and awards.

Experience with PeopleSoft Financials, Excel, Microsoft Word and Internet Providers.

Previous operation management or project management experience.

Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

 

Position Description:

The Office of the Executive Vice President for Research and Innovation (EVPRI) strives to exceed customer expectations and seeks a highly motivated candidate with an excellent customer support orientation and strong interpersonal skills. The Director of Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA), in collaboration with University research leadership, will lead the University's sponsored programs grant management operations, including oversight of grants and cooperative agreements funded by local, federal and non-profit agencies, and state contracts. Responsibilities include strategic and operational management of business processes and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Grant Management Services division of the Office of Sponsored Programs Administration. Duties also include liaising with other divisions within the Office of the EVPRI and across the University. This role will have the unique opportunity to work with an inspiring collection of faculty researchers, scientists, and staff members who are passionate about advancing research, healthcare, and other sponsored activities.

DIRECTOR SPA JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for sponsored programs, with an emphasis on grant management matters; review, develop, update, and administer related policies, procedures, and position standards, ensuring compliance with sponsor, state, federal, and institutional guidelines, and regulations.

Coordinate and oversee key functional areas within the Office of Sponsored Programs Administration, specifically related to grants, and special projects requiring significant intra-unit and intra-institutional coordination.

Collaborate with managerial level personnel and supervise and mentor sponsored programs grants management specialists.

Serve as Authorized Official for the submission of proposals, acceptance, and maintenance of awards.
