Associate Director, Pre-Award Administration
Overview
The Associate Director acts as the University’s approving authority and signing official for outgoing sponsored program grant applications and contract proposals, accepts incoming grant awards, negotiates and executes research contracts and subcontracts on behalf of the University, and manages the Pre-Award team. In addition, the Associate Director acts as a liaison with department administrators, provides educational outreach to the UWM research community on grant-related policies and procedures, and has an active role in compliance areas of Conflict of Interest, Effort Reporting, and Export Control. The Associate Director also works to strengthen the interface between the Pre-Award team and other functions in the Office of Sponsored Programs, including Grant Accounting and Research Development, and promotes a customer-service based office that provides high quality administrative services to the research community.
