The Research Administrator will provide financial and administrative support for sponsored research projects (pre- and post- award) within the Mechanical Engineering Department. They will serve as an advisor to faculty, and work in close coordination with the Office of Sponsored Programs in terms of policies, procedures, budgets, proposal planning and submission, and post-award administration. This position will report to the Operations Manager and assist with the research administration duties of the department as needed, collaborating with other members of the business operations team regularly. The Research Administrator is an essential team member who is energetic in researching issues and gathering information to solve problems, balancing accurate understanding of policies and procedures with sound judgement, creativity, and flexibility. They are able to work independently and cooperatively with little supervision while maintaining confidentiality and policy compliance.
