Job Title: Grant Specialist

Summary of Job Duties: The Grant Specialist will assist university faculty, staff, and students in locating appropriate funding opportunities; coordinate, manage, and approve the submission of proposals as assigned; manage contracts for sponsored projects; maintain cooperative working relationships with representatives of sponsoring agencies; lead and/or participate in special projects to further the department's goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution of higher education
- At least three years or more of progressively responsible experience within the field of research administration /sponsored programs administration, including financial management in a university, non-profit or research institution
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in business / public administration, finance, accounting law, or other applicable fields
- Research administration experience in a higher education setting, research institution, or non-profit organization
- Experience with electronic proposal submission systems
- Experience in contract negotiation or legal education in contracting
- Experience with University of Arkansas' BASIS or similar enterprise accounting systems (e.g. Workday)
- Experience with University of Arkansas' RazorGrant (Streamlyne) system or other electronic research administration systems
