With approximately $56 million in sponsored program expenditures and 230 individual grant proposals per year, the Office of Sponsored Programs, invites applications for a Senior Sponsored Project Administrator (SRSPA) who will support the faculty in grant application preparation, a fee for service contracts, and post-award fiscal administration in an environment of a rapidly increasing volume of awards.

The SRSPA will provide timely, high-quality, and coordinated pre/post research and contract administration services to TC faculty, departments, and centers.

Job Summary/Basic Function:

With approximately $56 million in sponsored program expenditures and 230 individual grant proposals per year, the Office of Sponsored Programs, invites applications for a Senior Sponsored Project Administrator (SRSPA) who will support the faculty in grant application preparation, a fee for service contracts, and post-award fiscal administration in an environment of a rapidly increasing volume of awards.

The SRSPA will provide timely, high-quality, and coordinated pre/post research and contract administration services to TC faculty, departments, and centers.

The SRSPA is responsible for the administration of extramural support for the College's research, training, and public service projects funded by government and non-government sponsors. The SRSPA provides comprehensive support and oversight to faculty and administrators for all stages of a sponsored project from pre-award to closeout. They will also prepare, negotiate and oversee sub awards issued under The College's sponsored projects awards.

The SRSPA will also serve as the primary point of contact for external agencies (federal and private) in all administrative matters related to proposals, subawards, and sponsored projects. The SRSPA is responsible for advising and assisting TC department administrators, principal investigators, and staff members; interpreting and explaining the request for proposal conditions, contract and grant terms and conditions, and assisting in the resolution of problems that develop in the course of projects by consulting with the investigator(s), staff, and sponsors.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Three to five years of pre-award sponsored research administration (Pre/Post Award) and oversight of federal and private grant administration at an institution of higher education.
• Full knowledge and experience with spreadsheet applications (for example Excel) and electronic grant activity tracking, application submission, and reporting platforms including but not limited to NIH eraCommons and Assist NSF Fastlane/ Reseach.gov, and Grants.gov.
• Candidate must be detailed oriented in their grant/ contract funded tasks (Pre/Post Award) Strong oral and written communication skills; good judgment; analytical problem-solving ability; and ability to provide high-quality service in a timely manner is required.
• Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to take initiative and work independently. Ability to work effectively, prioritize and be flexible in a high-paced, high-volume professional environment; Ability to interpret grant program and application criteria.
• Demonstrated record of composing and negotiating complex contracts and other agreements, effectively using knowledge of prime award terms, core College principles, policies, and processes.
• BA/BS degree or the equivalent in education, training, and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• CRA certification desirable
• Advanced knowledge of federal policies related to grants to higher education
• Familiarity with program grant development Experience developing training materials for print and web Advanced degree preferred
