Temporary Contract Specialist
Ball State University
Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA) seeks a Temporary Contract Specialist, who will assist in the management and review of assigned agreements/contracts, including but not limited to: sponsored research, non-disclosure, material transfer, internships, memos of understanding (MOU), data use, and equipment transfer. Can be/is able to be done remotely.
Minimum qualifications: Associate’s degree in legal studies or related area or equivalent. Over one through three years of experience contract review and/or negotiation, paralegal or equivalent experience, and/or subcontracting. Personal computer and related software skills (e.g. word processing, spreadsheet, database, adobe, Internet, Windows OS, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, problem-solving, organizational, project management, and customer service skills.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Experience: Bachelor’s Degree. Additional years of experience reviewing and negotiating contractual terms. Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) clauses and/or Federal Demonstration Partnership (FDP) templates. Experience with negotiating Intellectual Property (IP), insurance, and indemnification terms. Ability to analyze, interpret and implement University policies and procedures.
