Overview

The overall purpose of this position is to provide operational leadership and supervision for research and oversight to the selection, development, installation, and ongoing refinement of a University-Wide Electronic Research Administration (ERA) system for the submission and management of sponsored scholarship at Tennessee Tech University.

The successful candidate will also supervise the ongoing development, refinement, and implementation of policies and procedures relating to all aspects of the administration of grants and contracts from multiple sponsors and across the full life-cycle of the funding process from application through close-out. As part of this work, they will develop and oversee collaborative relationships with internal constituencies, including faculty, staff, and administrator’s delivery of training and supervision of ORED staff as they provide service to investigators, relevant staff across campus, and others who will be involved in use of the ERA system. This individual will also provide leadership for the integration of the ORED’s ERA system with the broader university electronic enterprise system, working closely with the relevant offices and individuals across campus (e .g., Finance, IT, etc.) to ensure smooth integration across systems for functionality and utility. Part of this individual’s responsibility will be the development and refinement of reports (for both internal and external constituents) and working with other units to maintain organizational dashboards. On occasion, there will be the need to create and provide professional development for the TTU community. Other supervisory and operational duties as assigned by the VPR.
