Director of Sponsored Research

Overview

Chief administrator for the Office of Sponsored Research, the primary office responsible for Pre-award and Post-award administrative support for internal and external sponsored projects. This position reports to the Provost. Responsibilities include: guide and assist faculty, administration and students to find appropriate funding sources and apply for grants; interpret complex grant guidelines and documents; oversee all research budgets (internal and external); recommend, develop, and maintain compliance systems and policies; maintain grants information systems; prepare and administer subcontracts; grants reporting; serve on internal and external grants committees; technology/material transfer and patent controls; maintain internal and external connections related to the College’s grants programs.

Five or more years of experience in grants administration required. Ph.D. preferred; master’s degree required. Experience with grant writing preferred. Broad disciplinary knowledge to cover scope of grant applications subject matter. Knowledge of information systems supporting research administration helpful.
