Position Overview:

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Director for Clinical Trials Operations.  The Director will partner with research leadership, clinical practice leadership, business development leadership and other functional leaders to develop and execute a unifying vision and strategy that optimizes clinical trials management and operations across all Mayo Clinic locations.

The Director will oversee and manage all operational and administrative aspects of clinical trials and will partner with physician leaders and leaders in discovery science to establish and maintain industry leading capabilities in clinical trial feasibility, clinical trials matching and virtual clinical trials.

The Director will leverage digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to drive clinical trials optimization, while ensuring ongoing compliance with federal guidelines and institutional policies and procedures. He/She provides oversight of financial performance of the clinical trials portfolio and monitors key performance indicators.

The Director works closely with the Mayo Clinic Institutional Review Board (IRB) and department and division leadership to create and align capabilities and services that drive advancement in the research mission.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Requires Master's degree in Management, Business Administration, Nursing, science, or health-related field. Minimum 8-10 years of relevant professional experience in scientific academic health care or like setting required. Demonstrated experience leading clinical research operations in a complex organization, including interfacing effectively with multiple faculty and staff with a strong customer service focus. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and apply broad concepts in practice. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the institution. Demonstrated experience in organizational, project management, quality improvement, problem solving and operational effectiveness. Prior experience implementing large organizational initiatives preferred. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to present, facilitate, negotiate and interact with individuals at all levels within the organization. Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing environment is essential.
