Associate Director, Office of Sponsored Programs Administration, University of Louisville

Overview

The Associate Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs Administration (OSPA), within the Office of the Executive Vice-President for Research and Innovation, is responsible for the operational and strategic oversight and management of all proposal submissions, and the administration of funded grants and cooperative agreements while maintaining a strong focus on service excellence. 

Responsibilities include supervision and mentorship of Proposal, Award and Systems Core personnel, providing leadership and instruction throughout the entire OSPA office. This position is a critical component of the OSPA Leadership Team.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Serving as signature authority for the approval and execution of documents associated with proposal submissions and externally funded awards.

Continuous improvement and compliance with institutional policies, procedures, regulations and strategic initiatives.

Maintaining current knowledge of sponsoring agency policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted. Grade EH Salary Minimum $56,064.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated management and leadership abilities
  • Direct experience with diverse types of sponsored proposals and awards
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Financials, iRIS, Excel, and Internet Providers
  • History of exceptional customer service and support
  • Evidence of ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Operation Management or project management experience
