COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST

Overview

The University of Florida is conducting a search for a Compliance Specialist in the Office of Research’s Division of Research Compliance and Global Support (DRCGS).  This is a highly responsible position that will report to the Assistant Director, Research Compliance and Global Support. The Division is responsible for developing and implementing research compliance programs that promote ethical and legally compliant research practices throughout UF’s research enterprise.  With latitude for independent judgment and action, the Compliance Specialist will work with the DRCGS Director and Assistant Directors to carry out the functions of the Division.  This position will be responsible for promoting University-wide faculty and institutional compliance with sponsor and University regulations related to research integrity and general research compliance issues. The Compliance Specialist has a thorough understanding of policies, procedures and standards of conduct that promote adherence to applicable laws, rules, and policies as well as the requirements of federal, state and private funding agencies.

The Compliance Specialist will maintain a portfolio of research compliance reviews and investigations. Specifically, the Compliance Specialist will conduct document and evidence reviews, allegation research, report drafting and analysis. This position will communicate regularly with Department leadership, faculty and staff. The Specialist will also participate in strategic planning and special projects to meet the Division’s goals.

Qualities and Qualifications

Minimal qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and four years of experience in appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience
  • Experience understanding complex regulations and applying them in an academic setting
  • Experience working with university faculty and staff
  • Research administration or compliance experience in an academic or federal regulatory setting.
