The Office of Research Administration is currently seeking an experienced Associate Director of Sponsored Programs. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President for Research Administration - Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs. The position is located in the central Office of Sponsored Programs. Major responsibilities include:
- Directs the administrative process associated with pre-grant awards.
- Monitors the preparation of funding proposals.
- Negotiates contractual terms and conditions with funding agencies, finalizes contracts and obtains authorized institutional signature for approval.
- Assists organizational representatives with issues related to sponsored research by serving as liaison with funding agencies to resolve questions or problems.
- Reviews award notices and proposals prior to distribution or submission to ensure acceptability and compliance with institutional or agency guidelines.
- Compiles data to generate reports on funding proposals, awards and accounting records.
- Ensures that proposal and subcontract information is entered into electronic database.
- Assists with preparation of department budget and monitors departmental accounting records.
- Hires, trains and supervises staff.
The minimum qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree in a related field and eight years of professional management experience, OR an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
