Senior Contracts Administrator for Secure Data

The George Mason University, Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) seeks a dynamic individual to support the research efforts of Mason faculty as a Senior Contracts Administrator for Secure Data. OSP supports external funding for research, scholarly and creative pursuits while ensuring the university’s financial, contractual and regulatory exposures are minimized. OSP provides guidance and support to the university’s community in its research efforts. Responsibilities:

The incumbent will draft, review and negotiate grant and contract terms and conditions to ensure they are in compliance with university, state and federal requirements; will have a good working knowledge of regulatory requirements involving data protection and security, including but not limited controlled unclassified information regulations, NIST security requirements and other areas involving data protection and security. The incumbent will also draft, review and negotiate data use agreements, non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements and memoranda of understanding on behalf of the University. The incumbent will coordinate with researchers, foreign and domestic sponsors and internal Mason units to ensure all safeguards are put into place for compliance with these federal requirements prior to acceptance of the award.
 

Required Qualifications:

  • The applicant must have a demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and university rules and regulations related to grants and contracts.
  • The individual must have highly developed time-management, problem-resolution, and organizational skills.
  • The individual should be able to foster an environment that supports teamwork, collaboration, and high-quality customer service.
  • The applicant must further possess outstanding oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Applicant must be: (i) a citizen of the United States; (ii) a person who is a lawful permanent resident of the United States (a “Green Card” holder); (iii) a person who is a “protected individual” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3); or (iv)a person who is otherwise able to become generally eligible to receive unclassified technical data pursuant to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • State, federal or university contract experience is highly preferred.
