Budget Analyst
Overview
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- BS degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Health Administration or a related field of study or equivalent work experience
- Certified Research Administrator of similar certification desired
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in clinical trial budgeting
- Minimum of 5 years’ overall experience in research administration
- Understanding of per patient, per sample, milestone and cost reimbursed budgeting
- Understanding and experience using Good Clinical Practices (GCP)
- Thorough understanding of clinical trial process from protocol to study closure
- Knowledge and understanding of Medicare Coverage Analysis
- Understanding of pre- and post-award issues
- Understand impact of budget on contracting and financial management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including intermediate understanding of excel)
Description of Duties:
- Serve as central contact for clinical trial and industry sponsored budget development
- Guide and facilitate faculty and staff in the development and preparation of clinical trial and industry sponsored research projects
- Analyze and evaluate contract budgets for inclusion of patient activities and all necessary expense categories to ensure proper conduct of the study
- Work with financial analyst and assist with questions regarding budget and/or contract for billing
- Assist in the formulation of policies/procedures and SOPs directly related to this work
- Serve as back-up to manager in the negotiation and red-lining of industry research contracts
- Develop relationships with Researchers/study teams and finance to help with post-award engagement and help facilitate the resolution of outstanding issues
