Grants and Contracts Manager
Overview
The Biocomplexity Institute and Initiative (The Institute) at the University of Virginia is seeking applications for a Grants and Contracts Manager. Working closely with faculty and staff, this highly skilled team member will support a diverse portfolio of pre and post grant administration for this multi-million dollar grant funded initiative. This exciting new initiative provides a huge opportunity to grow the breadth and depth of biocomplexity research for Virginia an the nation.
A bachelor's degree with at least seven years of grant and contract experience is required, with preference given to those with previous experience in an academic environment. Extensive knowledge of grants and contracts is essential, as is mastery of both of pre- and post-awards. The ability to interpret complex grants and contracts information is required, as the ability to design, manage, and implement programs to fulfill state and federal policies and regulations. The ability to plan and direct the implementation and modification of technological components of grants and contracts is required, as is the ability to collect, analyze and interpret information for leadership. Demonstrated excellence in both written and verbal communication is essential, along with the proven ability to clearly articulate complex information to a variety of audiences. Experience building, leading, and motivating teams is preferred, as is experience training junior grants and contracts professionals. In addition, experience using MS Excel and Corporate Financial Systems is required. A Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification is strongly preferred.
