Awards Manager, UNLV Research and Economic Development
Overview
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Awards Manager, Research and Economic Development, Office of Sponsored Programs [R0114410]. The Awards Manager will have three primary functions: award management; award and grant identification; and oversight of limited grant submissions.
This position will direct and manage internal and external awards programs housed under the Vice President for Research and Economic Development. These programs recognize faculty research accomplishments (e.g., Regents’, Barrick, and Faculty Opportunity Awards) from the call for nominations to submission, including, but not limited to: advertising the call for nomination, collecting award packets and reviewing for completeness, establishing selection committees, facilitating reviews and providing administrative support. Additionally, this position will provide any additional information per request from an agency (e.g. bios), provide status updates/feedback to nominees, and inform faculty of the selections.
This position will also identify awards and oversee nominations of UNLV faculty for federal, national, and state awards that recognize scholarly achievements (e.g., Innovation Awards, membership in the National Academies).
This position will manage the limited submission proposal requests for the Office of Sponsored Programs and implement new research service-related initiatives to enhance research excellence on campus as directed by the Vice President for Research and Economic Development. Additionally, this position will manage the award accounts for state funded limited submissions.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field from a regionally accredited college or university and 5 years related professional experience. A Certified Research Administrator certification (CRA) is preferred.
Although this position will remain open until filled, review of candidates’ materials will begin on March 8, 2019, and best consideration will be gained for materials submitted prior to that date.
