Responsibilities: This position is responsible for all aspects of research financial account management within the Dignity Health Research Institute Arizona service area. Requires depth of knowledge in clinical research administration business practices consistent with federal guidelines including expertise in billing compliance per legally binding contract terms. Responsibilities include clinical trial subject billing, management, oversight and compliance. This position ensures research subjects/patients are registered properly, research coding is completed, and bills are sent out correctly for research activities; assures billing compliance with CMS/Medicare/insurance requirements; manages process for obtaining Medicare contractor approval for billing of investigational Category B devices; serves as a resource to investigators and research coordinators.This position is also responsible for financial analytical review; prepares accruals of new research revenues and maintains Accounts Receivable schedules; analyzes monthly research financial reports to ensure accuracy and integrity of information; facilitates clinical trial sponsor invoicing. Qualifications: Minimum Requirements three (3) years of experience in hospital or medical practice patient billing setting with demonstrated knowledge of medical billing coding principles. Bachelor's degree in healthcare, accounting, finance or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Operational understanding and working knowledge of Lawson General Accounting System.Previous experience with Cerner, or other electronic medical record system. Working knowledge of patient billing software systems. Preferred Five (5) years of experience in clinical research financial management in an university or hospital setting with demonstrated knowledge of research budgets, research patient billing, coverage analysis, research grants management, general accounting and other financial processes.Master’s degree in healthcare, accounting, finance and or equivalent combination of education and work experience Current CITI training certificate. Certificate in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC). Experience with CMS National Coverage Determinations and qualifying clinical trial laws.
