GRANTS AND SPONSORED PROGRAMS COORDINATOR

Overview

SUMMARY

The Grants and Sponsored Programs Coordinator works with the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs/Provost and liaises with Development and the Business Office to organize and direct the College's grants and endowment programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  •  Identifies, analyzes, and coordinates application processes for potential funding sources for academic and operational programs.
  •  Reviews all extramural grant applications including budget preparation.
  •  Assists the Office of the VPAA/Provost and Business Office in tracking and recording post-award grant accounts and expenditures.
  •  Supports faculty and staff members throughout the entire grant-making process from pre- to postaward.
  •  Reviews relevant Board of Regents communications; notes necessary actions; and monitors and ensures timely responses.
  •  Assists the Office of the VPAA/Provost, the Business Office, and faculty in ensuring timely reporting and compliance with all requirements for Board of Regents Chairs and Professorships.
  •  Serves as the College's liaison with the Louisiana Board of Regents, non-profit advocacy organizations, and government agencies in coordination with Cabinet members.
  •  Other related projects, duties, and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Bachelor’s degree.
  •  Must be people-oriented individual, have good communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  •  Strong writing skills.
  •  Ability to meet deadlines and willingness to maintain a flexible schedule.
  •  Well-organized and self-motivated.
  •  Computer skills should include virtual meetings/work, word processing, spreadsheets, email, and database applications.

PREFERRED

  •  Two years experience in professional or technical writing.
  •  Experience writing grant proposals and grant reports.
  •  Educational and/or work experience at a selective, private, residential liberal arts college.
